Loosing the children you have mothered for a year… you know you made a huge impact on these childrens life and you had every hope of adopting them, now the system telling you that the Birthmother is now doing better after 2 mths and they will be returning home.
Funny that if you decide to “straighten up” for a couple months, than the year or years you couldnt get it together for your kids dont count, all is forgiven. The system will yank them for a stable loving home that could certianly be their forever home and put them right back where they had to rescue them from… I believe in second chances all the way, but i think we are past that point with a lot of the fosters kids that are going through the system. By the time the system is ready to let them go, its almost too late and with some kids it IS too late. They are scarred souls, older, wiser and afraid to attach to anyone. They are in fend for themselves mode and rightfully so.This is the problem with fostercare. I have seen it time and again. I think they try to have the child’s best interest at heart but sometimes I just see the parents interest being considered…
