I found out I was pregnant shortly after we adopted my beautiful son. At the time, I wondered if my daughter would feel bad that she didnt have a birthmother since we have a close relationship with my son’s birthmother. Well the other day, she said “why cant I have a birthmother and brother gets one??” My kids are very much about things being even and fair. This has come up in the past, when she would ask “who is my birthmother?” I would reply that I am her birthmother and that always seemed fine but at 4 1/2 yrs old she is feeling ripped off. I pointed out to her all the special things our sons birth family does for her too. This completely satisfied her, I am so thankful once again to have our birthmother in our life and how amazing she is to both of my children.
